TONIGHT: LWVNC to hold Library Board Candidates’ Night at Chappaqua Library

Three candidates for one Library Board position will take part in Candidates’ Night on Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Chappaqua Library Theater, 195 S. Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua, and is being sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Castle. Candidates’ Night is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

All candidates were invited to participate, and the following candidates are scheduled to appear:

[Karen Visser and Victoria Tipp, uncontested for the two open seats on the Board of Education of the Chappaqua Central School District, will not appear at Candidates’ Night; each has a conflict.]

Nicole Turano, Thomas Duggan and Erica Gottesman for the one open seat on the Chappaqua Library Board.

After brief opening statements, candidates will respond to questions from the audience. Following the question and answer period, candidates will give closing statements.

The elections will be held on Tuesday, May 20th from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Horace Greeley High School gym, 70 Roaring Brook Road in Chappaqua. In addition to electing members of the School Board and Library Board, voters will vote on the proposed school and library budgets.
