Editor’s Note: This week an RFP soliciting candidates interested in leasing the train station appeared on the town’s website (find a link in “Read more…”). The town is “interested in all food-service proposals,” and while the town is willing to consider renewal options, the initial lease term is five years. Morning coffee service is a must, as is the condition that restrooms remain available to the public much of the time. Below is the town’s summary of the RFP and a link to the entire RFP text. The deadline is noon on Wednesday, October 22.
Town of New Castle – September 2014
The Town of New Castle is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or entities who are interested in leasing the Chappaqua Train Station building located in Chappaqua, NY 10514. The proposed initial lease term is five (5) years, with the Town being willing to consider proposals for renewal options.
The Town is interested in all food service proposals. During the morning commute, breakfast food service must be made available to commuters and must be part of each proposal. Breakfast service must be provided from 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, during the entire lease term.
The entire building is available for use by the Tenant. The Tenant must allow the public to access the restrooms in the building from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Chappaqua Train Station building is an historic landmark, and the Town Board (in addition to any required local or state approvals) must approve all proposed alterations.
